Sony has managed to squeeze exceptional quality into the extraordinarily compact Sonnar T FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA Lens, making it a near-perfect match for full-frame E-mount cameras. It benefits greatly from Zeiss’s optical technology, as it utilizes a Sonnar design with three double-sided aspherical to provide the relatively fast f/2.8 aperture with minimal aberrations. Additionally, Zeiss’ T* anti-reflective coating is used on the lens to significantly reduce flare and ghosting. The internal focusing design and linear autofocus motor take things to the next level. Enabling a minimum focus distance of 13.8″ while also delivering fast, quiet, and responsive performance in stills and video. Additionally, the lens includes a dust- and moisture-resistant design and a seven-blade circular diaphragm for perfect bokeh. That ensures it will keep functioning in less-than-ideal weather conditions.

Design

This lens employs a design with seven elements in five groups. Which enables it to reach the huge maximum aperture of f/2.8 while also avoiding flare and enhancing contrast. The design is based on the Zeiss Sonnar optical idea.

A wide-angle prime designed for full-frame E-mount cameras. This 35mm lens will provide an excellent perspective for street photography, environmental portraits, and general-purpose shooting. When used with APS-C format cameras, it provides 52.5mm of equivalent focal length.

The f/2.8 maximum aperture allows users to create images with shallow depth of field and work in low-light conditions with relative ease.

Zeiss T anti-reflective coatings have been applied to every lens surface to reduce reflections and improve image clarity, contrast, and color accuracy.

The lens’s design includes three double-sided aspherical elements to lessen coma, field curvature, astigmatism, and other monochromatic aberrations.
